The Emerald Outback is a compilation of diverse, sustainably built, interconnected multi-use trails for hiking, biking, running, snowshoeing, and cross country skiing that will appeal to a diverse group of recreationists from all backgrounds.

The trail network is a series of trails on both public and private land, maintained by the Town of Beech Mountain, that includes single track, double track, technical downhill runs, free ride areas, fire roads, old unmaintained gravel roads, rambling creeks, babbling brooks, scenic overlooks, and thick mile high forest, all nestled above 5,000 ft. There are more than eight miles of trails for mountain biking, trail running and hiking. Elevations range from 4,700-5,400 feet, making it the highest adventure trail park on the East Coast.
