There’s no place like Beech Mountain to stay and PLAY. Our parks offer some of the most spectacular vistas in North Carolina. Enjoy a picnic, watch a beautiful sunrise/sunset or listen to a gentle waterfall at one of the eight parks on the mountain, each with their own special features for you and your family to explore.
Two “must do’s” for anyone with kids…visit one or both of Beech Mountain’s specialty themed playgrounds. The Fireman’s Park Playground, located next to a real live fire station will let your child’s creative mind run wild. Kids can pretend to fight fires on playground equipment that looks like a real fire engine. Or bring your kids down to Buckeye Playground to “monkey around” in a wonderland of rope swings, ladders, huge logs, and slides. Both playgrounds offer a good time for children and parents!
On Beech Mountain, we don’t forget our 4 legged members of the family. Visit the Bark Park located across from town hall and let your dog run wild in either of two secure, fenced in areas. There is a smaller section for dogs under 25 pounds and a large corral for the “big dogs” to play. The park is furnished with two fire hydrants for obvious reasons, a picnic shelter with two tables and water for man’s best friend when they get thirsty! The Bark Park is free, but donations are appreciated to assist with the upkeep and maintenance of the park.
